Admissions: Admission Requirements

Coursework Prerequisites: In order to be eligible for admission to the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, you do not need to acquire a bachelor’s degree. However, you must meet the following prerequisite requirements:

-90 semester/135 quarter hours of accredited college coursework that must include:

    -8 semester/12 quarter hours of general biology
    -8 semester/12 quarter hours of general/inorganic chemistry
    -8 semester/12 quarter hours of organic chemistry
    -8 semester/12 quarter hours of physics
    -6 semester/9 quarter hours of English
Official transcripts from all institutions attended must be sent directly to the Ohio College to verify the required coursework and hours.

Standardized Admission Exams:
The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine also requires reported scores (not older than three years) from the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT). Under special circumstances, and upon administrative discretion, we may accept test scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) — Science-specific test, only.

Exam reports should also be sent directly to the Ohio College. However, the centralized application service (AACPMAS) will accept and verify MCAT score reports, and report your scores directly to the podiatric colleges where an application has been sent.

Recommendation Letters: A minimum of two letters of recommendation are also required. One letter must come from a faculty member or faculty committee. The second letter should be from a podiatrist or another medical professional. All letters of recommendation should be sent directly to the college.
