THE COLLECTION
The collection totals over 15,000 volumes comprised of basic medical and scientific texts and journals.
All areas of medicine and basic sciences are included, with special emphasis on literature relating to the lower extremity.
Approximately 96 medical and podiatric journals are currently received.
There are special files of seminar notes and reprints available on podiatric medicine.
In the Computer Center, the collection consists of educational, medical, and general reference software.
Computers, laser printers, and scanners are available.
E-mail and the Internet are accessible after applying for privileges.
The Media Center houses videocassettes, slide/tape series, videodisks and audiocassettes on various podiatric and medical subjects.
Videotape players, variable speed tape recorders, slide projectors and videodisk players are available.
Additional computers and typewriters are also available in the area.
FINDING INFORMATION
Books
An on-line card catalog is available via the internet.
Journals
Individuals are able to search the medical literature by using Pubmed, Ovid or EbscoHost via the internet.
Index Medicus, other journal indexes, and MEDLINE searching by the Librarian can also help in retrieving journal articles.
PHOTOCOPIES
Photocopies are available for $.10 per copy.
There are two photocopy machines, one inside the Library and one in the fourth floor elevator lobby.
Xerox Vendamat cards are available for the lobby machine.
These cards eliminate the need to carry money for photocopies.
