New Student Orientation / Pre-matriculation Program
New student Orientation begins Thursday, July 30, 2009. All new students are REQUIRED to attend. It is in your best interests to move to the Cleveland area by mid-July to allow yourself time to become familiar with your surroundings. Once Orientation begins, you will need to concentrate on school, not on how to get home or finding the grocery store. As of 3/3/2009 the March of 2009 newsletter has been posted.
Verified Credentials New Student Background Check
New students need to visit the Verified Credentials site and fill out the forms online. First year students, as well as incoming students and third year students that are starting their clerkships all need to complete the web form. Click on the link below. No other background checks will be accepted. Please have this completed by July 10, 2009.See https://client.VerifiedCredentials.com/OCPM/

Housing Fair 2009
OCPM will be hosting its annual housing fair on Saturday, June 13, 2009, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Representatives from area housing complexes will be on hand to answer your questions, schedule tours and sign leases. Also, on hand, will be area bank representatives, if you are interested in opening a local checking or savings account.
Housing Letter
If you are an incoming student, and you need to provide proof to your leasing agent that you will be an OCPM student, please email Kristy or call (216) 916-7489 to obtain a housing letter.
Insurance Needs
Insurance needs are met through Case Western Reserve University and BCS Insurance. Every student is required to have University Health Services through Case Western University for a fee per semester. In addition to this, every student is required to have major medical insurance. The Student Medical Plan can be provided to every student through BCS Insurance, as well, for a fee per semester. Students have the option of waiving the major medical insurance if coverage is provided by a parent or spouse, or if they have their own major medical insurance. The waiver option will take place during Orientation. The fees are factored into each student's yearly budget. A reimbursement check will be provided to those students who sign a waiver before the given deadline. The coverage runs from August 1st - January 1st; and again from January 1st - August 1st.
