Financial Recognition Awards

OCPM has a number of scholarship programs available to the continuing student population. Students are formally notified of all offers in writing from the Director of Financial Aid, and must sign an award letter of acceptance to receive the credit of these awards to their tuition account.

Entering candidates may be awarded scholarships in varying amounts dependent upon their academic records. Those with a cumulative undergraduate Science GPA of 3.50 are seriously considered for awards, relative to available funding.

Students may not receive more than one institutional funded scholarship, but may receive multiple awards through a variety of scholarship sources. If a student is eligible for more than one institutional scholarship, s/he will be awarded the larger one. These institutional awards are made available no later than September of the academic year.

Scholarship awards are based on the individual's grade point average (GPA) for those courses completed at OCPM for the academic year. Students must be registered as full-time status in order to be eligible for consideration in half-tuition scholarship awards.

Scholarships are awarded each year upon approval of funding by the Board of Trustees. The awarding of scholarships is effective for one academic year only, and does not guarantee the recipient future awards. Awards cannot be carried into any other year other than the one for which it has been awarded.

Half-Tuition Scholarships
The College's half-tuition scholarship program attempts to recognize and reward outstanding student academic achievement. These awards, granted by highest cumulative GPA, honor continuing students based on their dedication to academic merit and performance.

OCPM Scholarship
OCPM proudly recognizes additional students who have achieved academic excellence on the basis of their current year GPA through its internal scholarship awards program. The number and amount of these awards varies with fund availability and the number of eligible students achieving academic distinction within the particular academic year.

Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students
SDS is awarded to students who demonstrate a disadvantaged background in environmental or economic status. Contingent to federal guidelines and regulations, the awards are based on family information, such as annual income and size, as reported on federal tax forms students have submitted with the OCPM Financial Aid Application for the corresponding academic year.

Additional Scholarship Resources
The Office of Financial Aid annually updates and distributes a scholarship reference packet for all continuing students. Sources originate from public and private sectors.

Applicants are encouraged to access personal contacts regarding designated scholarship eligibility, compliance and deadline information.

Potential candidates who have submitted verified transcripts and documentation to the Admissions Office may be eligible for scholarship consideration. We are looking for a 3.5+ Sci GPA and MCAT total test score of 21+ obtained within the past three years for optimal consideration.

Scholarships and grants for students who exhibit economic and/or environmental disadvantages are evaluated under separate review and do not displace assistance based on academic merit.
