Cleveland, the quiet giant of industry, culture, and medical sciences was founded over two hundred years ago when veterans of the American Revolution and their families left war-desolated homes in Connecticut and came to the state's Western Reserve. Since those early days, Cleveland has become home to almost two million people, including more than 60 ethnic groups, who each provide a unique contribution to Cleveland's culture.
Many of the nation's largest companies are headquartered in Cleveland including American Greetings, Jo-Ann Stores, Steris, Invacare and Lincoln Electric.In addition, Cleveland's medical centers have become its largest single growth area with major advances in patient care and research.
The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine is located in the University Circle area the heart of much of Cleveland's culture, scientific advancement, and education. The College is conveniently located near the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals and the Veterans Administration Hospitals and draws from all these resources for the enrichment of its students.
